Hydraulically actuated clutch-brake combination for wet run. High power density, good energy balance, low wear and noise.
On 20th March 1973, „Ortlinghaus AG" acquires the business shares of the disk and clutch manufacturer „Häussermann GmbH" in Gams.

Introduction of the first hydraulically cooled spring-loaded cogwheel brake

Pneumatically actuated clutch-brake combination in single-disk configuration. Remains a tried-and-tested design principle, even today. Approved ‚safe’ clutch/brake in terms of occupational safety.

Laying of foundation stone for a new factory in Wermelskirchen

Pneumatically actuated clutch-brake combination with spring-loaded brake for press drives improves work safety and simplifies control. Speeds and switch times of the presses could be significantly increased.
Establishment of forerunner company Häussermann in Gams, in the canton of St. Gallen.
Production of disks and clutches for vehicle and machine construction.
1945
Almost complete destruction of the factory due to bombing. Restart with staff of 40. Addition to the range of mechanically and hydraulically actuated clutches by newly developed pneumatic and electromagnetic clutches and later also by complete drive units.

Staff of over 600, large special factory for disk clutches

The decisive step into the future – for the first time ever, Ortlinghaus delivers standardised disk clutches produced in series as a complete machine element. Ortlinghaus becomes world famous with its 'Sinus® Disk' and other products.
